Shane McDonald was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor and driving with a suspended license.
McDonald was pulled over after police saw he only had one tail light illuminated. Police discovered his driver's license had been suspended multiple times for failing to answer a summons and that he was in possession of Xanax, a controlled substance.
McDonald was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Feb. 8.
McDonald was previously charged in Croton with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and in 2014 was charged with failure to appear in court in Yorktown.
